- "Alexander Scott, born in the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania. He removed to now Hancock county, West Virginia, in 1802, and located on a farm one mile northwest of Fairview. He was the father of seven children -- four sons and three daughters. Principally engaged in farming. In 1812 he brethed his last. His wife survived him but a few years. His family are all dead, save two -- one living in Hancock county, West Virginia, and the other in Meigs county, Ohio." (Pan-Handle History, p 443.)
